Ordering

How do I place an order?
Choose a product, select the size and finish options on the product page, and check out. You’ll receive an order confirmation email with your order number right away, and an email with your expected ship date within 2 business days.

Is the price on the product page the final price?
The product price updates to match the options you select. Shipping within the contiguous US is free, and applicable sales tax is calculated by delivery address and shown at checkout before you pay. There are no other fees.

Can I see a piece in person before buying?
Please email us before visiting so we can tell you what’s available to view. Every product page lists the dimensions, weight, materials, and finish options, and we’re happy to send extra photos or answer questions by email or phone.

Can I change my order after placing it?
Contact us as soon as possible. Within 24 hours of ordering, you can change or cancel any order free of charge. After that, production may already have started, so changes depend on how far along your piece is.

Do you offer custom sizes or designs?
Yes. If the options on the product page don’t fit your needs, email us your measurements, sketches, or photos. We’ll reply with a written quote and drawings to approve before work begins. Please note that custom quoted pieces are final sale and can’t be cancelled after the first 24 hours, except for damage or defects.

Do you sell to businesses?
Yes. Our conference tables, reception desks, and office furniture can be delivered to business addresses. For larger orders, email us for help with planning and delivery.

Production and Shipping

How long will my order take?

  • Furniture: 10–25 business days (2–5 weeks) to build, plus 3–7 business days in transit. That’s about 3–7 weeks in total.
  • Decor and accents: 3–5 business days to ship, plus 3–5 business days in transit. That’s about 6–10 business days in total.

Orders placed by 2:00 PM Pacific Time on a business day are processed that same day.

Why does furniture take several weeks?
Each furniture piece is built after you order it, in the size and finish you choose. Larger and more complex pieces take longer.

How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on every order to the contiguous United States, with no minimum purchase.

Where do you ship?
We ship to residential and business addresses in the lower 48 states and Washington, D.C. We don’t currently ship to PO boxes, APO/FPO addresses, US territories, or outside the United States. For Alaska and Hawaii, email us before ordering for a freight quote.

How is furniture delivered?
Furniture ships by insured freight. The carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment, and an adult must be present to sign. Standard delivery is threshold delivery: your piece is brought inside the first door of your home or garage. Room placement, unpacking, and assembly are not included. Decor ships by UPS or FedEx Ground.

Will I get tracking information?
Yes. We email your tracking number as soon as your order ships.

What if my order is delayed?
We’ll email you a revised ship date before the original one passes. You can then wait or cancel for a full refund.

What should I check before delivery?
Measure your doorways, hallways, stairwells, and elevators against the product dimensions on the product page. If you’re unsure whether a piece will fit, contact us before ordering.

Damage, Returns, and Cancellations

What if my order arrives damaged?
Inspect the packaging before signing. If you see damage, write “damaged” on the delivery receipt, take photos, and contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We’ll repair, replace, or fully refund the item, whichever you prefer, at no cost to you.

Can I return an item?
Yes. Standard items (those ordered using the options on the product page) can be returned within 14 calendar days of delivery. They must be unused and in the condition you received them. Sale-priced items follow the same policy.

Who pays for return shipping?

  • Damaged, defective, or incorrect items: we cover all costs.
  • Change-of-mind returns: you pay return shipping. For furniture, we give you the exact pickup cost in writing before you agree. There’s never a restocking fee.

How do I start a return?
Email info@drapperwoodsf.com or call +1 415-728-2597 within 14 days of delivery with your order number. We’ll reply within 1 business day with a Return Authorization (RMA) number and instructions.

How long do refunds take?
Approved refunds are issued within 5–10 business days after we receive your return, to your original payment method. Your bank may take an additional 3–5 business days, or PayPal 1–3 business days, to show the credit.

Do you offer exchanges?
Because every piece is made to order, we don’t do direct exchanges. Return the original item and place a new order. Contact us first, and we’ll prioritize production of your new piece.

Can I cancel my order?

  • Within 24 hours: free cancellation and a full refund, for any order.
  • After 24 hours, before shipping: a 25% cancellation fee applies to standard furniture.
  • Custom quoted pieces: can’t be cancelled after the first 24 hours.
  • Decor: can be cancelled free any time before it ships.

Email us with the subject “Cancel Order #[number].” The time we receive your email counts, including on weekends.

Products and Care

Is your furniture solid wood?
Our furniture is built mainly from solid wood, including walnut, oak, mahogany, maple, cedar, and reclaimed wood. Some designs include other materials, such as steel frames, epoxy resin, or metal hardware. Each product page lists every material used in that piece.

Will my piece look exactly like the photos?
Not exactly, and that’s part of its character. Grain, knots, and color vary from board to board, so every piece is unique. Colors may also look different on your screen, and wood tones change gradually with light exposure.

Are the dimensions exact?
Each piece is handmade, so finished dimensions may vary from those listed by up to ±¼ inch (6 mm).

Does my furniture need assembly?
Each product page notes whether any assembly is required. Large pieces may arrive with legs or bases to attach. Assembly is not included in standard delivery.

How do I care for solid wood furniture?

  • Dust with a soft cloth and wipe up spills promptly.
  • Use coasters and trivets.
  • Keep furniture away from direct sun and heat sources.
  • Refresh oil finishes with a compatible conditioner every 6–12 months.

What if something goes wrong after the return window?
If a joint or construction detail fails because of our workmanship, contact us with photos and we’ll repair or replace the piece.
